AR activated Photos in Education

I'm going to try to make this story as short as possible so here goes....

I have always loved mathematics as a subject for as long as I could remember. I didn't always excel in it though. The first time I had true challenges with the subject was in the 8th grade. Everything started off great in Algebra I for a few weeks until I had to stay home for two days due to being ill. Only two days...

When I returned to class I was lost and didn't understand what was going on in class. My parents got me tutoring and by then I was too frustrated to receive the information to progress. As a result, I dropped down to Pre-Algebra the 2nd semester of my eight grade year. Thankfully, I was able to get back on track and was back to excelling for the rest of my high school years.

Once in college, things pretty much stayed on track until Calculus II...disk and washer methods really took me for a loop along with rotations of solids etc....it felt like a repeat of my struggle back in the 8th grade. Ultimately, I took that course twice in college.

The #1 positive thing that came from that experience is that I felt more prepared to really master the skills when I repeated the course. With the help of an upperclassmen named Fred, I realized that I learn things better with visual aids but not the static ones you normally see in textbooks. When I could imagine things in motion, in action, I could really grasp fundamental concepts better.

This realization brings me to what I love to use present day...Augmented Reality. With the development of the internet, smart devices, cameras, and augmented reality, we have all the ingredients needed to bring pages to life! Below, you will see a photo of Pythagoras. My only ask is that you download the "Black Terminus AR" app from the App Store. Use the AR Cam tab to look at the image and you'll see exactly what I mean! Enjoy.....

Downloaded - that is pretty amazing Burgess! I also think your story is very important. For those who “failed” with traditional math learning (like me), visuals are extremely helpful.

The ability to use visuals is so important for many!
